Candyfloss Grenade, 2011
As a declaration of independence and democracy of all that builds-up the art-instance, this installation presents a playground of possibilities where the process of making, viewing and all decisions made during these activities shape the work through the continuous production of narratives. There is no intended outcome, no correct version.
By using everyday materials, and applying formats that are culturally all-pervasive such as appropriation and video, I wish to assure the spectator that he/she is an equal participant, a heterogeneous element of the presented environment. By not setting a concrete route of viewing, the concept of beginning-end is isolated within each instance of art-spectator interaction, established by each viewer’s personal time-frame, chosen direction, and combined with their individual, subjective interpretation.
